Frequently Asked Questions
About Our Prints
What is a Giclée print?
Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a fine-art printing process that uses archival pigment inks sprayed onto high-quality paper. The result is a museum-grade reproduction with exceptional colour accuracy and longevity — prints that are built to last for generations.
What paper do you use?
We print exclusively on heavyweight 300gsm 100% cotton rag paper. This acid-free, archival-quality paper gives prints a beautiful textured finish and ensures the colours remain vibrant for decades.
How long will my print last?
Our archival pigment inks and cotton rag paper are rated to resist fading for over 100 years when displayed away from direct sunlight and framed under UV-protective glazing.
Submitting Your Artwork
How do I send you my child's artwork?
Once you place your order, we send you our signature Portfolio Kit — a protective envelope and instructions for safely posting your child's original artwork to our North London studio. We handle every piece with the utmost care.
What types of artwork can you digitise?
We work with a wide range of media, including watercolour, pencil, crayon, oil pastel, felt-tip, and mixed media. If you're unsure whether your artwork is suitable, please get in touch before ordering.
Will my original artwork be returned to me?
Yes. As part of our process, we carefully hand cut the artwork to prepare it for the final composition. Any pieces that aren't used in the design can be returned to you, though please be aware they will no longer be in their original condition. The complete original artwork is always handled with the greatest care throughout.
Colour Restoration & Composition
What does colour restoration involve?
Our studio team digitises the artwork at high resolution and then carefully adjusts the colour to restore the vibrancy of the original — compensating for any fading, paper discolouration, or scanning shifts.
Who decides the layout and composition?
We do — and that's part of the service. Trusting our eye for layout and composition is central to what makes each piece truly special. Our studio team brings years of fine-art expertise to every print, making considered decisions about balance, framing, and presentation so the result feels gallery-worthy, not just reproduced.
Framing & Sizing
What sizes do you offer?
We currently offer three sizes:
- Petit — 30 × 40 cm
- Classic — 40 × 50 cm
- Grand — 50 × 70 cm
What framing options are available?
Prints are available unframed or framed in your choice of Oak, Black, White, Red, Yellow, or Blue. All frames are slim-profile solid wood with a warm limestone-cream mount board. You can also choose between a Standard mount or a Float mount finish.
Can I order a custom size, frame colour, or mounting style?
Yes — we do offer custom options. If you have something specific in mind, we'd love to hear it. For example, we can match your mounting board to a paint colour from your home — whether that's a Farrow & Ball or Little Greene shade — so the artwork feels truly at home on your wall. We can also discuss bespoke print sizes and alternative frame finishes. Simply get in touch via our Contact page and we'll get back to you to talk through what's possible.
